Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 July 2026
This policy explains what happens to your data when you use PaletteTools. It is written to be read, not just filed away — if anything is unclear, contact us and we'll clarify it.
Images are never uploaded
The Image Color Palette Generator and Color Picker from Image tools read image data using your browser's built-in Canvas API. Your image file is decoded and processed on your own device. At no point in Week 1 does this website have a server endpoint that accepts image uploads, and image pixel data is never transmitted anywhere.
What is stored locally
Some tools save small pieces of information in your browser's local storage so the site is more convenient to use:
- Recent colors — the Color Picker from Image tool keeps a history of up to 8 recently selected colors (as HEX values) in your browser only, so you can revisit them without re-uploading an image. You can clear this at any time with the "Clear history" button.
We do not store uploaded images, extracted pixel data, or any personally identifying information in local storage or anywhere else.
Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand overall traffic — things like which pages are visited, how many people visit, what device or browser they used, and roughly which country they visited from (derived from IP address). This is standard, aggregate website analytics, not tracking of you individually.
Google Analytics does not receive your uploaded images, extracted pixel data, or any color values you type into the converters. Those never leave your device — Analytics only sees which page you're on, the same as it would on any website.
You can learn more about how Google processes this data in Google's Privacy Policy, or opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising
No advertising is shown on PaletteTools at this time. If advertising is introduced in the future, this policy will be updated first, and any associated cookies will be disclosed here.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions. These are the only cookies this website sets. You can clear or block them at any time through your browser's settings; doing so does not affect any tool's functionality. Browser local storage (described above, used for the color-picker's recent-color history) is separate from cookies and is not sent to any server.
Third parties
PaletteTools does not call any external API to process images or colors. No AI service, paid API, or third-party image-processing service is used.
Your choices
You can clear your recent-color history at any time from within the Color Picker tool, or clear your browser's local storage for this site through your browser's settings.
